Jeffrey Island Habitat Area, near Lexington, Nebraska -- White-Tailed Deer
The obvious thing about this photo is the pose of the two bucks. However, there is a more subtle point of interest. If you look closely you will notice one buck has all of the velvet on his antlers, and the other buck has all of the velvet rubbed off. This is a sign that the season is changing from Summer to Fall. I was in a blind with my scent covered up when I took this photo. You may wonder how I got the deer to look up without scaring them away. I can't reveal all of my secrets on my website. Catch me in the right mood at one of my Art shows and I might tell you.
